How to make a Juice

Always wash your produce! Unwashed fruits and veggies have bacteria, and sometimes bugs hidden in the leaves. Washing is always and important first step.

Line your Pulp Basket... If your juicer has a pulp basket, line it with a plastic bag in order to make clean up easier. I always save mine and freeze it for homemade vegetable broth.

Cut produce to size...slice your pineapple, cut your apples in fourths, cut cucumbers in half lengthwise, etc. Remember, once cut, you need to juice them immediately.

Feed your cut produce through the juicers shoot. If your machine has more than one speed, juice harder fruits and veggies on high, ex. carrots and apples. Juice softer items on low, ex. spinach and cucumbers.

Strain your juice if you are using a Centrugal juicer-use a micro strainer or cheesecloth.

Drink up...If you prefer cold, add ice to it. If stored properly, juice can last up to 3 days in the fridge, and up to 10 days in the freezer. Remember, fresh juices have no preservatives so they go bad quickly.
